If you ask a random friend or acquaintance what they would like to change about themselves then the answer would most probably be ‘lose some weight’. In fact, some even proceed to name the exact parts of the body they would like to lose weight from! In most cases these are stomach, face, thighs, hands, buttocks and so on. Losing weight is definitely not rocket science but it does require patience, discipline and perseverance. Of course, you also need to have the right knowledge about what to do in order to lose weight.
First things first, it is high time you bust the myth that one needs to skip breakfast to lose weight. This couldn’t be further from the truth because breakfast is called the most important meal of the day for a reason. Keep in mind that you aren’t going to lose weight by skipping meals because starvation is not the answer to weight loss. Moreover, skipping your meals would also cause you to have uncontrollable hunger pangs, which in turn would cause you to snack or binge eat more during the day and this is definitely not healthy!
Most people often make the blunder of eating a heavy breakfast with fatty, greasy or sweet items such as donuts, too much bacon, hamburger, white bread, sweet soda and so on. Remember, you shouldn’t skip your breakfast but you shouldn’t load it up with unhealthy food too. The key is to eat healthy. You can try having cereal or muesli with fresh fruits like blueberries, banana and so on. You can also throw in a few dry fruits like cashew nut, almonds, raisins and so on but don’t go overboard. As for the beverage you can go for something healthy like low fat tea or coffee, green tea or freshly made fruit juice.
Another key to losing weight fast is to always carry a small container or bag of healthy snacks with you wherever you go. Fruits rich in fiber, like apples, make great snacks. You can also carry almonds, pretzels, low fat crackers and so on as snacks. This way you won’t crave for sugar or punish your body with the intake of empty calories from the unhealthy snacks picked up from vending machines!
You also need to boost your daily protein intake. This will actually help you achieve weight loss because protein keeps you full for longer and also boosts your metabolism. In addition to this, you must also exercise on a regular basis. You can do it for 6 days a week and take a day off because your body also needs a break and those sore muscles need to heal up. Also, drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated.
