  • Palacio de la Diputación (Contemporary Art)
    C/ Toledo,
    Tf.

This is the most beautiful civil building in the city, representing late 19th Century architecture and the work of the architect, Santiago Rebollar, which was completed in 1892. The main façade is noteworthy and is finished with the city’s coat of arms. It is well worth taking a look at its interior to admire the main stair, which is constructed in two parts and covered by a dome. The building dates from the end of the 19th Century and was designed by the architect Sebastián Rebollar and decorated by Ángel Andrade and Samuel Luna. The work of Angel Andrade stands out, together with the work of other artists and sculptors from the province, which forms part of a permanent exhibition in the galleries.

The house, dating from 1917, conserves the décor of the period, and is reminiscent of the bourgeoisie atmosphere at the end of the century. Weapons, titles of nobility, Louis XVI-style furniture or a collection of antique fans from the 16th to the 19th Century made of ivory, mother-of-pearl and carved wood that speak of a cultured and refined age.
