Romería de la Virgen de las Nieves   

This is a religious procession that takes place on the second weekend in May.
The romería is a celebration held in honour of the Virgen de las Nieves.

Romería de la Virgen de Alarcos
This religious procession is held on Pentecost Monday.
It involves the transfer of the Virgen de Alarcos from the Church of San Pedro to its chapel, which is 9 km away. The different brotherhoods carry the Virgin on their shoulders.

Tapearte Competition
 
This is held during the long weekend in May.
It provides locals and visitors with the opportunity to taste the essence of the cuisine of Ciudad Real, tapas.

 

 
Infantes  

Los Mayos
Los Mayos are sung on the night of 30 April.
They have been declared of regional tourist interest. The rondallas (serenading musical groups) go from house to house and sing to ladies all through the night.


 
 


Las Cruces Held from 2 to 3 May.
This fiesta has been declared of regional tourist interest. People go through the town following the bonfires that mark the spots where there is a decorated cross and once at the cross, at the base of the cross, people are offered the “puñao” (bag of dry chickpeas) and at the bowl next to the cross, people are invited to take some punch.

This celebration is held on the evening of 31 May.
People from the village dress up as characters from the novel, and activities, games, competitions and so on are held. …

Villarrubia de los Ojos   
Romería de San Cristóbal 
  
This religious procession takes place on the first Sunday in May.
People go to the Chapel of San Cristóbal to eat hornazo, a sweet bun with an egg on top held in place by a cross made of dough that has all been oven-baked.  It is customary to “crack the egg” on the forehead of the first person you can catch.
At the end of the religious event, a large hornazo and a small statue of the image of San Cristóbal are auctioned.  Afterwards, the Saint is taken back to the Chapel, also with a procession, and when it arrives at its doors it is exhibited during the popular distribution of the bateo (toasted wheat).

Romería a la Virgen de la Sierra   
This religious procession takes place on the third Sunday in May.
People carry La Virgen de la Sierra on their shoulders to the altar built for the celebration of mass, and once the ceremony has finished, the Virgin is taken to the Chapel again amongst constant displays of faith by its loyal followers.

Mayos a la Virgen   
This takes place during May.
The celebration of Mayos a la Virgen consists of distributing crosses at different points of the town from the Town Hall to the crosses
 

San Isidro   
This celebration is held on 15 May.
After the holy service has been held, San Isidro is carried in a procession that goes from the chapel of San Isidro along the usual route.
 
Daimiel   
Romería de la Virgen de las Cruces   

This religious procession takes place at the end of May/beginning of June.
The romería is held in the sanctuary in honour of the Virgen de Las Cruces, who is the patron saint of Daimiel.
