Events in June

May/June Daimiel Romería de la Virgen de las Cruces This religious procession takes place at the end of May/beginning of June. The romería is held in the sanctuary in honour of the Virgen de Las Cruces, who is the patron saint of Daimiel.
Día de la Sartén This ‘day of the frying pan’ is celebrated on the Saturday closest to 15 June. Whole families, neighbours, work colleagues, cultural groups, sports teams, and so on, get together to enjoy the cuisine from La Mancha, which includes dishes such as migas (fried breadcrumbs), gachas (thick flour-based soup), and pisto (ratatouille).
Almagro Meetings of Lace Makers These are held on the second weekend in June. It is a traditional meeting of lace makers who do artisan lace work including lace trims.
