This fair is held from 23 to 28 August.
These are the Patron Saint’s Fairs and Festivals.

This is a local festival celebrated on 5 August. The Almagro locals bid farewell to their patron saint, who will spend the summer at Santuario Nuestra Señora de las Nieves, which is 7km from Almagro

From 14 to 22 August, fairs are held in honour of the patron saint, Nuestra Señora del Prado. It is an important week for Ciudad Real with a multitude of activities and much fun to be had.

Daimiel   
Certamen nacional de pintura ciudad de Daimiel   

The National Painting Competition of the City of Daimiel takes place at the end of August.
As it is a national competition, it brings together the most prominent artists of the moment. The exhibition of the artworks can be visited during the first fortnight in September.

Some of the most prestigious international classical music artists participate in this festival of classical music.

Certamen Literario Quevedo   
This “Quevedo” Literary Competition is held on the last Saturday in August.   
It is an international competition and includes a ceremony with clothing and customs of the 17th Century.

This religious procession is held in the middle of August.

Feria de Agosto       
The August Fair begins with the procession of gigantes (giant figures) and cabezudos (people wearing large hollow head masks) and a spectacular fireworks display. The festive activities continue with competitions, cultural and sports events, bullfighting celebrations, traditional dances, wine dances, concerts and an endless list of activities.

This takes place on the third Sunday in August.
The Patron Saint is taken from her chapel down to the village as a prelude to the start of the local Fairs and Festivals on 7 September.

Fiesta del Madrugador   
The ‘fiesta of the early risers’ takes place on the first Sunday in August.
The fiesta is held in honour of the men that get up early every day to go to work in Madrid. The festival is held around the sculpture of the Madrugador on calle el Cordón.
