February Carnival This is a festival that is of regional tourist interest
March/April Holy Week This celebration is of national tourist interest
May Romería de la Virgen de Alarcos This religious procession is held on Pentecost Monday. It involves the transfer of the Virgen de Alarcos from the Church of San Pedro to its chapel, which is 9 km away. The different brotherhoods carry the Virgin on their shoulders.
Tapearte Competitiont This is held during the long weekend in May. It provides locals and visitors with the opportunity to taste the essence of the cuisine of Ciudad Real, tapas.
July La Pandorga This event is celebrated on 31 July and the days running up to it. It is a festival that is of regional tourist interest. The typical clothing is a white shirt and the traditional grass handkerchief that is worn to go to the dances and the run with the toros de fuego (person wearing a bull costume that emits fireworks).
International Folklore Festival This event is held in the middle of July. Each year a new edition of the festival is held that attracts groups to Ciudad Real from all over the world.
August Fairs and Festivals From 14 to 22 August, fairs are held in honour of the patron saint, Nuestra Señora del Prado. It is an important week for Ciudad Real with a multitude of activities and much fun to be had.
