The Tablas de Daimiel National Park, representative of the wetlands of La Mancha, takes its name from this enterprising city.
Water is the core of life in Daimiel, from the Bronze Age archaeological site, Motilla del Azuer, where the importance of controlling water was already highlighted, to the need for water mills as economic potential for the Order of Calatrava, to the Water Interpretation Centre designed by the prestigious architect, Miguel Fisac, who appreciated the natural, social, economic and historical aspects related to water.
